  The Essence of a Dystopia               In the 2009 science fiction photograph District 9, directed by Neill Blomkamp, Blomkamp uses District 9, a military-guarded slum in Johannesburg, South Africa to exploit the essence of a dystopian world amongst order of magnitude. The film, inspired by events from the time of apartheid, follows transnational United employee Wikus van der Merwe as he heads up a project to relocate human-like aliens who landed about 20 long time previous.
